The Arlington Community Coalition is a diverse group of residents, business and community leaders coming together to voice support for the National Landing area transformation and Amazon’s new headquarters.
The benefits are far-reaching: new housing choices, including affordable units; better education, with multiple universities locating campuses nearby; upgraded infrastructure; and an overall boost to the entire local economy. National Landing and all of Arlington win with the new Amazon headquarters.
Promote long-term economic growth and jobs in both Arlington and the entire region.
Support multimodal access and integration, including improved roads, bike lanes, transit and pedestrian facilities.
Advocate for an inviting sense of community that joins together office, residential, retail, open space and cultural activities in our neighborhoods.
Speak out for a mix of housing that adds new options for residents of all income levels without disrupting the preservation of existing units.
Crystal City, Pentagon City and Potomac Yard are still separate neighborhoods — but the business improvement district that serves them has a new name today. The Crystal City Business Improvement District has been officially renamed the National Landing Business Improvement District.
JBG Smith Properties is looking to revamp, rebrand and add more leasable space to its Crystal Drive office campus, including one building partly leased and occupied by Amazon.com Inc. as part of HQ2.
This is an exciting time to live and work in Arlington County. The projects in and around National Landing, like Amazon’s new headquarters, will deliver substantial benefit to the entire county and region — from tens of thousands of new jobs and economic growth to the transformation of Crystal City into a more walkable, liveable community.
While the overwhelming majority of Arlington County residents support Amazon’s new headquarters, some outside political groups and opponents of change are lobbying our county officials to delay or stop Amazon-related projects.
That’s why it is so important to ensure our county officials hear from the voices of the overwhelming majority of Arlington residents and local leaders to ensure the National Landing and Amazon projects move forward without delay.
